Figure Mania

While in Japan, I picked up 2 figures from that haven of eroge-loving otaku everywhere, Softmap in Akihabara. One was the Kotobukiya Belldandy Goddess costume version, and the other one was the Bandai Haruhi 1.5 Metamo Figure. I do declare, both figures are absolutely stunning! The Belldandy figure's a piece I've been eyeing ever since I first saw an ad for it in an earlier volume of the Dark Horse Oh My Goddess manga. I've always had a soft spot (maybe even a crush... :-) ) in my heart for Belldandy ever since I first saw her in the original OAVs all those years ago. The 2nd figure is the Metamo Haruhi 1.5 figure. This is pretty special since it changes color depending on the temperature of the environment! Temperature above 30 degrees C result in a red bunny-girl Haruhi, while 16 degrees and below give you a black-suited bunny girl! All in all, both were pretty awesome purchases. In fact, they'd be much more expensive if you bought them here locally in let's say, Greenhills. Just another gushing entry on the total awesome-ness that is Nippon!

The calm before the storm

As I'm typing this, I'm listening to Track 11, "Boku wa Kuma" (I'm a bear) on Utada Hikaru's latest album, Heart Station, which I picked up at softmap in Akihabara. It's a pretty relaxing song, which I guess just sets up the perfect mood to relax before the hell of clerkship begins. Tomorrow is officially my last day of summer vacation, yet I have to spend it going to Bambang to look for white scrubs. Damn man, what a waste of a perfectly good morning. Come Wednesday, I'll be starting my rotation in the Pedia OPD, 7:00 a.m. 'til THURSDAY 12 noon. Jesus Christ, I'll probably be zombified due to the lack of sleep. Why the hell do Philippine Medical Schools insist on overworking their students? In the U.S., I hear that doing that kind of stuff is pretty much illegal. Well, it just goes to show that we really do live in a 3rd world country.
